• SRT – SubRip Text is made up of plain text and it can be created using either NotePad for Windows, or TextEdit for Mac.

The SRT format offers subtitle creators greater flexibility regarding character limits; however, it does not support advanced caption styling. Subtitles in SRT are consistently displayed according to the default style set by the media platform or player.
